The very sexy and appealing Garcelle Beauvais was born on November 26, 1966, in St. Marc, Haiti. She was the seventh and last child of her parents. She has 4 more sisters and 2 brothers who have all grown close to each other. When her parents divorced, she and her siblings moved with their mother to Massachusetts. While in Massachusetts, her mother attended a nursing school in order to support them while she, on the other hand, attended a boarding school. When she was 16 years old, they relocated to Miami Florida.
Because she’s got the features and attitude of a model; her family and friends persuaded her to pursue a modeling career. At the age of 17, Garcelle Beauvais landed on modeling gigs after signing for Ford Models. She was seen on print ads for Avon, Mary Kay Cosmetics and Clairol. She also posed for several catalogues of notable department stores such as Neiman Marcus and Nordstrom.
She also graced the layouts of Essence and Ebony magazines and walked on runways for Calvin Klein and Isaac Mizrani. Her fans see her on media almost all of the time.
Garcelle Beauvais was not satisfied to stay as a model. She was also hot to acquire a Hollywood career as an actress that is why after taking classes in New York, she moved to Los Angeles and once again appeared in front of the camera. It’s just that this time, it’s for a movie and not for print ads or fashion shows. After obtaining an experience in acting, she was signed for several shows such as The Cosby Show, Miami Vice and Dream On. She was also seen in the films Manhunter and Coming to America.
In the year 1994, she landed a role in the sitcom, Models Inc. This sitcom revolved around a group of models who are staying in only one room. Here, she played the role of the sexy and stylish Cynthia Nichols. When Models Inc. was canceled, Garcelle Beauvais began to appear on commercials and debuted in a Diet Coke ad. This was followed by a starring role in American Express opposite actor Jerry Seinfeld.
Garcelle Beauvais has appeared on several hot music videos while keeping credits in both films and television. She was also able to work with the likes of Jamie Foxx, Will Smith, Eddie Murphy, Orlando Jones, Eddie Griffin and other famed Hollywood personalities. She also played the role of Assistant District Attorney Valerie Heywood in the long running NYPD Blues. Her appearance in the show began in 2001.
